Norwegian translation services by The Translation Company

The Translation Company provides Norwegian translation services to energy and maritime companies, legal teams, and corporations working with Norway. We have translated between English and Norwegian since 2005, in both directions, at corporate grade, for clients that treat translation as a strategic function rather than a commodity purchase.

Why organizations choose us for Norwegian: a WBENC-certified women-owned company, operating to ISO 9001 and 17100 standards, corporate member of the American Translators Association, serving clients since 2005. We are selective about the work we take, transparent about how it runs, and accountable at the ownership level for every engagement.

Norwegian: Bokmal, Energy, and Maritime Content

Norwegian business documents are written in Bokmal (Nynorsk appears mainly in public-sector contexts), and commercial demand follows Norway’s energy, maritime, and seafood economies. Our Norwegian practice covers contracts, technical documentation, and corporate content in both directions, staffed by native linguists.

How We Deliver Norwegian Translation

Every engagement starts by confirming the audience and the stakes, because those two facts decide everything else: which linguists, which register, which review depth, and which deadline plan. A dedicated project manager owns your Norwegian work end to end, maintains your terminology base, fields linguist questions in one organized thread, and keeps delivery dates honest. Files come back in the formats they arrived in, from Word and Excel to InDesign and structured content, and recurring clients get the same core team so institutional knowledge compounds instead of resetting with every order.

Norwegian Translation by Industry

Technical and manufacturing. User manuals, engineering specifications, safety documentation, and supplier communications run through our technical translation team on client-specific termbases, so a term fixed once stays fixed across every document and release. Drawings, callouts, and formatted deliverables come back print-ready, not as raw text for your engineers to re-set.

Business and finance. Financial statements, audits, investor materials, marketing, and HR content for Norwegian-speaking staff and markets run through our business translation practice, in the register serious counterparties expect, with confidentiality handled as a default rather than an add-on.

Legal. Contracts, corporate records, litigation and discovery documents, judgments, and certificates move between English and Norwegian through our legal translation services, with certification when a court or agency requires it. Legal Norwegian is handled by linguists vetted for legal subject matter, and quality standards are overseen by our owner, a licensed attorney in Texas and California, so documents leave here ready for the venue that will read them.

Medical and life sciences. Clinical documentation, regulatory submissions, and patient materials are handled by our medical translation practice with linguists who work in life-science terminology daily and reviewers who understand what regulators and patients each need from the same content.

What We Translate Between English and Norwegian

Across these settings, the document types we handle most often include the following:

  • Contracts, agreements, and corporate or official records
  • Litigation documents, judgments, and certificates
  • Vital documents, notices, and application forms
  • Manuals, specifications, and safety documentation
  • Clinical and regulatory documentation
  • Employee handbooks, policies, and HR communications
  • Marketing, training, and community-facing content

Certified Norwegian translations. When a US court, agency, university, or employer requires certification, we provide certified Norwegian-to-English and English-to-Norwegian translations with a signed statement of accuracy; see our certified translation services for formats and turnaround.

Norwegian Interpreting

Interpreting is delivered in-house, not brokered. We provide Norwegian interpreters over the phone, by video, and on-site, with our own simultaneous-interpreting equipment for conferences and public meetings. Document translation and interpreting run under one project manager when your program needs both, which is exactly where multi-vendor setups usually fray. See our interpretation services.

Process, Quality, and the Human/MTPE Choice

Every Norwegian project runs through translation, editing, and proofreading (TEP) by separate linguists, with a project manager accountable for terminology, schedule, and query management, operating to ISO 9001 and 17100 standards. Where the content profile fits, we offer machine translation with professional post-editing (MTPE) as a deliberate choice for high-volume, lower-risk content, while certified, legal, clinical, and community-vital content stays fully human. We advise which workflow fits which content and put that recommendation in writing before work begins, so you are choosing with the trade-offs in front of you.

Confidentiality and Data Handling

Translation work exposes exactly the documents organizations least want circulating: contracts under negotiation, filings before submission, patient records, personnel matters. Every Norwegian engagement runs under NDA on request, files move through controlled channels rather than personal inboxes, and access is limited to the assigned team. For regulated content we align handling with the obligations you already carry, from healthcare privacy to matters under protective order, and we state in writing how your files are stored, for how long, and who touches them. If your procurement or IT team requires work inside client-side platforms, we accommodate that too.

Norwegian Translation Questions We Hear Most

Do you translate Norwegian energy and maritime documentation? Yes. Technical and contractual documentation for energy and maritime work is the core of our Norwegian practice, with terminology managed per client.

Are your certified Norwegian translations accepted by US courts and agencies? Yes. Certified translations include a signed statement of accuracy prepared to the receiving institution’s requirements, and we match specific formats (declarations, notarization coordination) when a venue asks for them.

Do you handle both Norwegian-to-English and English-to-Norwegian? Yes. Both directions run through the same team on a shared terminology base, which matters for litigation and for any program where documents flow both ways.

How fast can you deliver? Small documents typically move in one to two business days; larger projects get a delivery plan up front, and rush needs are staffed honestly rather than promised loosely.

Do you provide Norwegian interpreters? Yes: over the phone, by video, and on-site, including conference settings with our own simultaneous-interpreting equipment.
